Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs)
The ECA scheme provides tax incentives for all companies purchasing low carbon/energy saving technologies. The list of eligible technologies includes biomass heating systems. ECAs permit the full cost of investment in equipment that are on the ‘Energy Technology Product List’ to be written off against taxable profits at the period of investment.

The Carbon Trust
The Carbon Trust supplies 0% interest loans over a period of four years for the installation of energy-efficiency technology, including heating systems. They consider any energy-saving investment where the estimated value of energy saved over the first 5 years exceeds the capital amount.
